HB 994 -- MOTORCYCLE HELMETS (Dusenberg) COMMITTEE OF ORIGIN: Transportation This bill requires only persons younger than 21 years of age to wear protective headgear when operating or riding as a passenger on any motorcycle or motortricycle. Currently, all motorcyclists are required to wear protective headgear. The Department of Health and Senior Services must initiate a Crash Outcome Data Evaluation Study, paid for by the Department of Transportation, for the next three years to determine the effects of the bill. FISCAL NOTE: No impact on General Revenue Fund in FY 2007, FY 2008, and FY 2009. Estimated Cost on Other State Funds of $1,500 in FY 2007, $1,545 in FY 2008, and $1,591 in FY 2009.Copyright (c) Missouri House of Representatives
