AN ACT

To amend chapter 571, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to forbidding prohibiting the storage of legally owned firearms or other weapons in a locked vehicle.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the state of Missouri, as follows:

            Section A. Chapter 571, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto one new section, to be known as section 571.085, to read as follows:

            571.085. Notwithstanding any other provision of law, no business entity shall establish any rule prohibiting the storage of legally owned firearms or other weapons in locked vehicles that are owned by the employees of the business entity. Any violation of this section may be the subject of a civil action for appropriate relief or for damages in a court of competent jurisdiction.
