AN ACT

To amend chapter 29, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to the state auditor.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the state of Missouri, as follows:

            Section A. Chapter 29, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto one new section, to be known as section 29.272, to read as follows:

            29.272. There is hereby established the "Missouri Governmental Accountability Office". The state auditor shall organize and oversee such office. The office shall audit legislation on a follow-up basis to determine whether projected fiscal notes were accurate, to report whether specified funding was appropriated as directed, and to report the actual year-end expenditures, revenue, and disbursements of the state. All reports made by the office shall be made a matter of public record. The office shall be required to report its findings to the general assembly and the governor.
