HB 62 -- GEORGE WASHINGTON CARVER BUILDING SPONSOR: Ruestman COMMITTEE ACTION: Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on Corrections and Public Institutions by a vote of 7 to 0. This bill designates the state office building for the Department of Agriculture located at 1616 Missouri Boulevard in Jefferson City as the "George Washington Carver Building." FISCAL NOTE: No impact on state funds in FY 2008, FY 2009, and FY 2010. PROPONENTS: Supporters say that this would be a small honor to give to a man who gave so much to the world. Testifying for the bill were Representative Ruestman; Reginald Tiller, George Washington Carver National Monument; Missouri Baptist Convention, Christian Life Commission; and Department of Agriculture.
