Summary of the Committee Version of the Bill

HB 732 -- MEMORIAL HIGHWAY AND BRIDGE DESIGNATIONS

SPONSOR:  Parson

COMMITTEE ACTION:  Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on
Crime Prevention and Public Safety by a vote of 10 to 0.

This bill adds emergency personnel killed while performing their
duties to the list of individuals who are eligible for memorial
highway or bridge designations.

FISCAL NOTE:  No impact on state funds in FY 2008, FY 2009, and
FY 2010.

PROPONENTS:  Supporters say that emergency personnel should be
added to the list of persons eligible to have a highway named in
memory of him or her in recognition of the important services
they provided.

Testifying for the bill were Representative Parson; State Fire
Marshal; Missouri Ambulance Association; St. Charles County
Ambulance District; Missouri State Council of Firefighters; and
Metropolitan Ambulance Services Trust.

OPPONENTS:  There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
