HCS HB 872 -- UTILICARE PROGRAM SPONSOR: Emery (Cooper, 158) COMMITTEE ACTION: Voted "do pass" by the Special Committee on Utilities by a vote of 7 to 0. This substitute allows and encourages individuals receiving utilicare assistance to attend financial management and energy conservation workshops. The workshops will be conducted by community action agencies. FISCAL NOTE: No impact on state funds in FY 2008, FY 2009, and FY 2010. PROPONENTS: Supporters say that the bill will encourage sound financial and energy conservation practices without imposing a mandatory burden on utilicare recipients.
