HB 1286 -- Child Abuse Prevention Task Force

This bill establishes the Child Abuse Prevention Task Force to
make recommendations on child abuse prevention efforts that could
be implemented by an existing state agency or program.  The task
force will consist of 19 members with the President Pro Tem of
the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives
serving as co-chairs.  The task force will examine the state's
responses to child abuse and neglect; establish best practices to
prevent child abuse and neglect; and make recommendations on
distributing and spending money, obtaining federal funds, and
changing the laws to prevent child abuse and neglect.  The task
force may consult with other child abuse and neglect entities in
Missouri and must submit a report to the General Assembly by
January 1, 2009.

The provisions of the bill expire on January 1, 2009.
