HB 254 -- Obstruction of Justice

This bill creates the crime of obstruction of justice when a
person, intending to prevent the apprehension or obstruct the
prosecution or defense of a person, knowingly:

(1)  Destroys, alters, conceals, or disguises physical evidence;
plants false evidence; or furnishes false information;

(2)  Induces a material witness to leave the state or conceal
himself or herself; or

(3)  Leaves the state or conceals himself or herself while
possessing material knowledge.

The crime will be a class A misdemeanor unless the person
obstructs prosecution or defense of a felony in which case it
will be a class D felony.
