HB 695 -- Peace Officers Sponsor: Bruns This bill specifies that employees designated as peace officers by the Supervisor of the Division of Alcohol and Tobacco Control within the Department of Public Safety will have the power and authority to make arrests, searches, and seizures for any criminal offense witnessed during an investigation or in connection with any offense when acting at the request of the sheriff of any county or the chief of police of any municipality, or their designated representatives, or any other state law enforcement agency. When making an arrest, search, or seizure, the peace officer will notify the sheriff or police department prior to making an arrest. If there are life-threatening circumstances, notification must be given immediately after making an arrest.Copyright (c) Missouri House of Representatives
