HB 899 -- County Treasurers Sponsor: Wilson (119) Currently, any unclaimed money or property found upon a deceased person is to be delivered to the public administrator who forwards it to the treasurer for deposit to the credit of the city or county. This bill specifies that the public administrator will be responsible for placing the money to the credit of the city or county and selling any property at a public auction. If the money received by the public administrator is demanded within five years by a legal representative of the deceased, the public administrator will pay the money to the person. The deadline for county commissions to receive proposals and publicly open bids from banks regarding the selection of the depository of county funds is changed from April 1 of each year to any date on or before the first Monday of July.Copyright (c) Missouri House of Representatives
