HCS HB 338 -- MINIMUM COMPENSATION FOR CORRECTIONS EMPLOYEES

COMMITTEE OF ORIGIN:  Corrections and Public Institutions

This substitute authorizes minimum amounts of compensation for
certain corrections employees.  Certain corrections employees
will receive a $50 per month pay increase for a period of 10
years.  Beginning January 1, 2008, the Department of Corrections
is required to conduct a salary equity study of all its
employees.

The substitute becomes effective July 1, 2008.

FISCAL NOTE:  Estimated Cost on General Revenue Fund of $0 in
FY 2008, $5,267,840 to Unknown in FY 2009, and $9,633,759 to
Unknown in FY 2010.  No impact on Other State Funds in FY 2008,
FY 2009, and FY 2010.
