Summary of the Truly Agreed Version of the Bill

HCS HB 678 -- SCHOOL ATTENDANCE IN INCLEMENT WEATHER

This bill allows school districts in counties declared a federal
disaster area after the January 2007 ice storms to not make up
lost school time from January 15 to January 22. This provision
does not apply to the Nixa R-II and Joplin R-VIII school
districts. School districts in counties not included in the
federal disaster area that have missed eight or more days due to
inclement weather during the 2006-2007 school year are not
required to make up six of those days, and the requirement for
scheduling two-thirds of the missed days into next year's school
calendar is waived for the 2007-2008 school year.

The bill contains an emergency clause.
