AN ACT

To amend chapter 217, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to minimum pay for certain corrections employees.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the state of Missouri, as follows:

            Section A. Chapter 217, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto one new section, to be known as section 217.109, to read as follows:

            217.109. Beginning July 1, 2008, and for each subsequent fiscal year, in addition to any other cost-of-living increases or other increases in compensation appropriated by the general assembly, the department of corrections shall authorize an annual fifty-dollar-a-month increase in compensation for each of the following classifications of corrections employees:

            (1) Corrections officer I;

            (2) Corrections officer II;

            (3) Corrections officer III;

            (4) Corrections spv I;

            (5) Corrections spv II;

            (6) Corrections classification assistant;

            (7) Corrections caseworker I;

            (8) Corrections caseworker II;

            (9) Functional unit manager.
