AN ACT

To amend chapter 9, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to the designation of autism awareness day and month in Missouri.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the state of Missouri, as follows:

            Section A. Chapter 9, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto one new section, to be known as section 9.158, to read as follows:

            9.158. The governor shall issue annually a proclamation setting apart the month of April as "Autism Awareness Month" and the twenty-seventh of April as "Autism Awareness Day" in Missouri and recommending that it be observed by citizens of the state through activities which will increase awareness of autism spectrum disorders and the importance of early identification and intervention.
