AN ACT
To amend chapter 67, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to display of documents with religious content.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the state of Missouri, as follows:
Section A. Chapter 67, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto one new section, to be known as section 67.170, to read as follows:
67.170. 1. As used in this section, the following terms mean:
(1) "Founding documents", includes, but is not limited to, founding documents of the United States or this state and any supporting or source documents, including religious relics or religious texts or those that may make reference to the Deity, religious laws, religious practices, or religious observances;
(2) "Governing authority, board, or personnel", any entity or individual responsible for the governance, leadership, or management of the political subdivision.
2. No governing authority, board, commission, or personnel of any political subdivision shall prohibit the display of founding documents in public institutions, public buildings, and public grounds in this state.
