HCS HB 1807 -- STATE SCHOOLS FOR THE SEVERELY DISABLED
SPONSOR:  Cunningham, 86 (Cox)
COMMITTEE ACTION:  Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on
Elementary and Secondary Education by a vote of 11 to 0.
This substitute renames the State Schools for Severely
Handicapped Children to the Missouri Schools for the Severely
Disabled.
FISCAL NOTE:  No impact on state funds in FY 2009, FY 2010, and
FY 2011.
PROPONENTS:  Supporters say that the families of the children
served at the state schools requested the name change to the more
modern terminology.
Testifying for the bill were Representative Cox; and Department
of Elementary and Secondary Education.
OPPONENTS:  There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
