Summary of the Committee Version of the Bill

HB 1881 -- PUBLIC WATER SUPPLY DISTRICT BOARD MEMBERS

SPONSOR: Schlottach

COMMITTEE ACTION: Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on
Conservation and Natural Resources by a vote of 11 to 0.

This bill changes the length of the term of office for the
initially appointed directors of public water supply districts
from June to April because of a change in the date of their
subsequent election.

FISCAL NOTE: No impact on state funds in FY 2009, FY 2010, and
FY 2011.

PROPONENTS: Supporters say that the bill fixes an unintended
consequence of prior legislation by preventing an overlap of a
board member's term of office.

Testifying for the bill were Representative Schlottach; and
Missouri Rural Water Association.

OPPONENTS: There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
