HCS HB 1910 -- REGULATION OF VEHICULAR TRAFFIC IN CERTAIN COUNTIES SPONSOR: Deeken (Ervin) COMMITTEE ACTION: Voted "do pass by consent" by the Special Committee on Government Affairs by a vote of 7 to 0. This substitute exempts first classification counties from the procedural requirements when establishing regulations related solely to increasing speed limits. The increased speed limits in these counties will take effect immediately upon approval of the county commission. FISCAL NOTE: No impact on state funds in FY 2009, FY 2010, and FY 2011. PROPONENTS: Supporters say that the bill will allow the county commission to increase speed limits at the request of the county highway commission. Testifying for the bill was Representative Ervin.
