HB 1400 -- School Law Enforcement Officers

This bill allows school boards to commission certified law
enforcement officers who will have authority to stop, detain, and
arrest persons for local violations and certain crimes committed
on school premises, at school activities, or on school buses.
Sexual offenses or felonies involving either the threat of or the
use of force remain under the local jurisdiction where the crime
occurred.  Officers will consult with and coordinate activities
through the school superintendent.
