HB 1935 -- Surgical Technologists Sponsor: May This bill specifies that "surgical technology" means intraoperative care that involves preparing the operating room for surgical procedures including the equipment and supplies and assisting in surgical procedures. No person may practice surgical technology in a health care facility unless he or she meets the established guidelines and specific educational requirements as well as annually completing 15 hours of continuing education. A health care facility employing a surgical technologist must verify that the individual has met the continuing education requirement and that he or she competently performs tasks during surgery according to its health care policies and the provisions of the bill.Copyright (c) Missouri House of Representatives
