HB 1938 -- Parent-Teacher Conferences Sponsor: Baker (123) This bill requires the State Board of Education to establish a rule by July 1, 2009, to mandate parental participation in three teacher conferences each school year. If the parent does not meet the requirement, the student's performance and attendance will not be counted in calculating a district's accreditation. The number of students whose parents do not meet the requirement will be included in the annual report card for schools. Employers must not penalize parents for taking a reasonable amount of time off on three workdays each year to meet with a teacher regarding their child's performance.Copyright (c) Missouri House of Representatives
