HB 2038 -- Municipal Property Annexation in Fire Protection
Districts in St. Louis County

Currently, when a city within a certain population range with a
fire department annexes property within a fire protection
district and takes over the fire protection duties for the
annexed area, the city must reimburse the fire protection
district in an amount either contractually agreed upon or
statutorily determined.  Municipalities within St. Louis County
are excluded from the requirements of this provision.

This bill repeals the exemption for municipalities within St.
Louis County and makes them subject to the reimbursement
requirement.
