HB 2047 -- Street Grading in Certain Cities Sponsor: Curls Currently, cities with 300,000 or more inhabitants have the authority to establish or change the grade of any street after the two houses of legislation of the city adopt and publish a resolution in a newspaper declaring the necessity for the grading, unless a majority of the property owners fronting the street file a remonstrance within 30 days of the first publication. If a remonstrance is filed, the city cannot make the proposed change until a sufficient number of remonstrators withdraw their signatures so that there is less than a majority. This bill deletes the references to the "two houses of legislation" and replaces the term "resolution" with "ordinance."Copyright (c) Missouri House of Representatives
