HB 2049 -- Eyewitness Evidence in Criminal Investigations

This bill establishes a task force to develop guidelines for
policies, procedures, and training regarding the collection and
handling of eyewitness evidence in criminal investigations by law
enforcement agencies.  The task force will include the Attorney
General or his or her designee, the Director of the Office of the
State Public Defender or his or her designee, the Executive
Director of the Office of Prosecutorial Services or his or her
designee, two members of the Senate, and two members of the House
of Representatives.  The task force must submit a report on the
guidelines developed and recommendations concerning their use by
April 1, 2009, to the Governor, Chief Justice of the Missouri
Supreme Court, and the standing committees of the General
Assembly on criminal law.
