HB 2069 -- Curfew for Minors

This bill prohibits any minor younger than 17 years of age or any
parent, guardian, or other adult having the care and custody of a
minor younger than 17 years of age to knowingly allow the
individual to loiter, idle, wander, stroll, drive or ride in an
automobile, or play in or upon the streets, highways, roads,
alleys, parks, playgrounds, wharves, docks, or other public
grounds, public places and buildings, places of amusement and
entertainment, vacant lots, or other unsupervised places between
the hours of 11:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. of the following day,
except on Fridays and Saturdays when the hours will be midnight
to 6:00 a.m. of the following day.

Any minor violating the provisions of the bill will be warned to
cease and desist immediately and may be taken into custody and
released to his or her parent or guardian or released at the
scene with a written notice of referral to the juvenile court.
The juvenile court will serve upon the parent or guardian or the
person in charge of the minor a written notice specifying the
manner in which the minor was in violation.  Any violation by the
minor after receipt of this notice will result in a fine of
between $5 and $100.

The provisions of the bill will not apply to any minor
accompanied by or upon an emergency errand or legitimate business
directed by his or her parent, guardian, or other adult person
having the care and custody of the minor.
