HB 2192 -- Review of Long-Term Care Facility Projects

This bill changes the laws regarding the review of long-term care
facility projects under the Certificate of Need Program.  The
owner of any long-term care facility or bed is allowed to
relocate licensed beds within six miles or replace an existing
facility within 15 miles without being subject to a review.  The
owner is required to submit to the Department of Health and
Senior Services a written request prior to the start of any
project to verify the project's exemption from review.  If the
department determines the project is exempt, a certification
letter must be issued by the department to the owner.
