Summary of the Introduced Bill

HB 2231 -- Campaign Contributions

This bill changes the laws regarding campaign contributions.  In
its main provisions, the bill:

(1)  Repeals provisions regarding campaign contribution
limitations for candidates for certain state offices specified in
Section 130.032, RSMo;

(2)  Repeals provisions regarding a prohibition on monetary
contributions from political party committees to candidate
committees, continuing committees, or other political party
committees and a time limitation on the receipt of campaign
contributions while the General Assembly is in session; and

(3)  Repeals Section 130.150 which allows any individual to file
a complaint regarding a violation of campaign contribution laws
with the Missouri Ethics Commission or to seek a return of excess
contributions to the state in a circuit court.
