HB 2522 -- Solid Waste Processing Facilities Sponsor: Bivins This bill requires applicants for a permit to construct a solid waste facility to notify all residents living within 1,000 feet of the proposed facility. Residents will be allowed to voice any comments and concerns at a community involvement session, request a public hearing before the Department of Natural Resources prior to the permit approval, and appeal a department's permit decision to the Administrative Hearing Commission and the appropriate courts. Notification procedures and meeting requirements for the community involvement session are specified in the bill. The department will have 270 days to act on a permit application if a public hearing is requested and 180 days if no public hearing is requested.Copyright (c) Missouri House of Representatives
