Summary of the Introduced Bill

HB 2559 -- MO HealthNet Services

Sponsor: McGhee

This bill requires the MO HealthNet Division within the
Department of Social Services to apply to the United States
Department of Health and Human Services for a waiver to provide
in-home services to certain adults with mental retardation or
developmental disabilities. An eligible individual must be at
least 18 years of age, live with his or her parents, be
ineligible for MO HealthNet benefits based on parental income and
resources, have a permanent and total disability that requires
habilitative services, and would otherwise require services at an
institution.

Eligibility under the waiver for an adult will be based on MO
HealthNet Program guidelines for income and resources, health
condition established under the federal Medicaid Program for
permanent and total disability, and need and cost of care in an
intermediate care facility.
