HB 2579 -- Reports of Child Abuse at Schools

This bill specifies that any mandated reporter of child abuse who
is a school official or employee and fails to file a report of
child abuse under the school discipline law will be subject to a
fine of up to $5,000, one year in jail, or both.  A student who
makes a false allegation of abuse will be subject to disciplinary
action under the school's policy and will have a notice of the
false allegation attached to his or her permanent record.
