HB 2581 -- Joint Committee on Health Care Policy and Planning Sponsor: Page This bill establishes the Joint Committee on Health Care Policy and Planning comprised of five members of the House of Representatives appointed by the Speaker and five members of the Senate appointed by the President Pro Tem. No more than three members of each chamber can be from the same political party. The committee is required to meet within 10 days after its establishment and at least quarterly thereafter. The duties of the committee will include monitoring the design and implementation of health care initiatives, monitoring the effect of legislation on the delivery of health care services, analyzing and developing policy proposals, recommending administrative or procedural changes, making recommendations to the General Assembly, and developing a health care plan for spending.
