HJR 51 -- Judicial Retirement Sponsor: Lembke Currently, the Commission on Retirement, Removal, and Discipline is responsible for receiving and investigating all requests for the retirement of judges because of disability and for all complaints concerning alleged misconduct of judges and judicial commission members. Any judge not subject to the Missouri Nonpartisan Court Plan must petition the commission to continue to serve past the retirement age of 70 years. Upon voter approval, this proposed constitutional amendment abolishes the commission and makes service of judges past retirement age in order to complete his or her elected term not subject to a petition or appeal process.Copyright (c) Missouri House of Representatives
