HCS HB 2064 -- PAIN TREATMENT ACT AND PHARMACISTS (Parson) COMMITTEE OF ORIGIN: Special Committee on Professional Registration and Licensing This substitute renames the Intractable Pain Treatment Act to the Pain Treatment Act and removes the term "intractable pain" from its provisions. A pharmacy technician is allowed up to 30 days to renew his or her registration after the expiration date and authorizes the State Board of Pharmacy to issue a cease and desist order to stop a person from engaging or offering to engage in an unauthorized practice. A permit is not required for a licensed pharmacist to perform nondispensing activities outside of a pharmacy, subject to the rules established by the board.
