Summary of the Perfected Version of the Bill

HCS HB 2064 -- PAIN TREATMENT ACT AND PHARMACISTS (Parson)

This substitute renames the Intractable Pain Treatment Act to the
Pain Treatment Act and removes the term "intractable pain" from
its provisions.

A pharmacy technician is allowed up to 30 days to renew his or
her registration after the expiration date and authorizes the
State Board of Pharmacy to issue a cease and desist order to stop
a person from engaging or offering to engage in an unauthorized
practice.  A permit is not required for a licensed pharmacist to
perform nondispensing activities outside of a pharmacy, subject
to the rules established by the board.

FISCAL NOTE:  No impact on state funds in FY 2009, FY 2010, and
FY 2011.
