Summary of the Truly Agreed Version of the Bill

CCS SS SCS HB 2224 -- LAW ENFORCEMENT

This bill creates the Deputy Sheriff Salary Supplementation Fund
to supplement the salaries, and employee benefits resulting from
the salary increases, of county deputy sheriffs. The fund will
consist of moneys collected from a $10 increase in the fee
charged by sheriffs for the service of any summons, writ,
subpoena, or other order of the court in civil cases and will be
administered by the Missouri Sheriff Methamphetamine Relief
Taskforce within the Department of Public Safety.

Currently, peace officers who make traffic stops are required to
receive annual training regarding the prohibition of racial
profiling. The bill changes the training requirement to three
hours within the law enforcement continuing education three-year
reporting period.
