AN ACT

To amend chapter 217, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to the cause of death for an inmate in the department of corrections.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the state of Missouri, as follows:

            Section A. Chapter 217, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto one new section, to be known as section 217.413, to read as follows:

            217.413. The department of corrections shall no longer list the cause of death for an inmate simply as natural causes but shall list the specific illness or disease which caused the death of the inmate.
