AN ACT
To amend chapter 191, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to medical diagnosis and treatment.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the state of Missouri, as follows:
Section A. Chapter 191, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto one new section, to be known as section 191.990, to read as follows:
191.990. Prior to making a diagnosis of anorexia nervosa, the licensed health care professional or licensed mental health care professional of the patient shall take all appropriate and reasonable diagnostic steps necessary, or refer the patient to another health care professional for further medical evaluation, to eliminate the possibility that a physical illness or other medical condition other than anorexia nervosa is the cause of weight loss in the patient.
