AN ACT

To amend chapter 208, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to reimbursement for MO HealthNet providers.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the state of Missouri, as follows:

            Section A. Chapter 208, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto one new section, to be known as section 208.198, to read as follows:

            208.198. Subject to appropriations, the department of social services shall establish a rate for the reimbursement of physicians, optometrists, podiatrists, and psychologists for services rendered to patients under the MO HealthNet program which provides equal reimbursement for the same or similar services rendered with respect to the date on which such physician, optometrist, podiatrist, or psychologist entered into practice in Missouri, the date on which the physician, optometrist, podiatrist, or psychologist entered into an agreement or contract to provide services or the location in which such services are to be provided in the state; provided, however, that the requirements of this section shall not apply when the department contracts with entities to negotiate a rate for the reimbursement of services rendered to MO HealthNet patients in a MO HealthNet managed care system.
