AN ACT
To amend chapter 9, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to the designation of Turner Syndrome awareness month.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the state of Missouri, as follows:
Section A. Chapter 9, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto one new section, to be known as section 9.169, to read as follows:
9.169. 1. The month of February is hereby designated as "Turner Syndrome Awareness Month" in the state of Missouri. The citizens of this state are encouraged to observe the month with appropriate activities and events to increase awareness of the characteristics, diagnosis, and treatment of Turner Syndrome.
2. Turner Syndrome encompasses several incurable conditions in human females in which a chromosomal abnormality results in all or part of one of the X chromosomes being absent. The characteristic physical abnormalities of Turner Syndrome include short stature, swelling, broad chest, low hairline, low-set ears, and webbed necks.
