Rep. Jerry McBride's Bio


Rep. Jerry McBride, a Democrat, represents part of Phelps County (District 149) in the Missouri House of Representatives.

Elected to his eleventh consecutive two-year term in 1994, Rep. McBride is chairman of the State Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources Committee. He is also a member of the following House committees: Appropriations-Natural and Economic Resources; Professional Registration and Licensing; Tourism, Recreational and Cultural Affairs; and Ways and Means.

In addition to his legislative duties, Rep. McBride is self-employed. He is a member of the following organizations: First Baptist Church of Edgar Springs; Order of the Stars and Bars; Society of the Sons of the Revolution; MSM-UMR Alumni Association, honorary lifetime member; and many civic organizations.

Rep. McBride was educated at Edgar Springs Grade School and Rolla High School. He also served in the U.S. Army Reserves.

Born May 20, 1939, Rep. McBride resides in Edgar Springs with his wife Deloris. They have three children: Heather, Jarrett and Ginger.
