Rep. Russell Gunn's Bio


Rep. Russell Gunn, a Democrat, represents part of St. Louis City (District 70) in the Missouri House of Representatives.

Elected to his second consecutive two-year term in 1994, Rep. Gunn serves as vice-chairman for the Energy and Environment and Insurance Committees. He also is a member of the following House committees: Consumer Protection; Municipal Corporations; and Science, Technology, and Critical Issues.

In addition to his legislative duties, Rep. Gunn works as an insurance and securities broker.

A member of the executive board for the National Conference of Insurance Legislators, Rep. Gunn also belongs to the St. John African Methodist Episcopal Church and the Parent Advisory Council for the Normandy School District.

A 1968 graduate of Sumner High School, Rep. Gunn obtained an associate's degree in business from St. Louis Community College.

Born November 27, 1948, in St. Louis, Rep. Gunn currently resides in Northwoods with his wife Gwendolyn. They have three children, Russell II, Grenetta and Gwendolyn.
