HB 117 -- Employment of Retired Teachers

Sponsor: Marble

This bill allows teachers who retire under the provisions of the
State Public School Retirement System to be employed full-time
by the district as nonteaching employees. Employment as a part--
time or substitute teacher continues to be subject to a limit of
550 hours per school year. Full-time employment in a teaching
capacity bars the retiree from receiving retirement benefits
during any month in which the person is so employed and also
requires that the person must contribute to the retirement
system during the period of full-time teaching.
