HB 147 -- Gaming Funds for Education

Sponsor: Scheve

This bill stipulates that as of July 1, 2000, the first $25
million of unencumbered funds in the gaming commission fund must
be appropriated to schools, based on average daily attendance.
Any remaining unencumbered funds would be transferred to the
state general revenue fund. Currently, unencumbered funds are
being transferred to the veterans' commission capital
improvement trust fund until July 1, 2000, when all unencumbered
funds will be transferred to general revenue.
