HB 639 -- Sales/Use Tax

Sponsor:  Gunn

This bill places a moratorium on the state sales and use tax
levy, collection and payment beginning November 1, 1997, through
December 31, 1997.  The moratorium includes the 1% state sales
and use tax rate of which collections are deposited in the
School District Trust Fund.  The 1/8th of 1% constitutional
Conservation tax rate, the 1/10th of 1% constitutional Soil and
Water/State Parks tax rate, and all local option sales and use
taxes are not affected and will continue to be collected during
the moratorium.
