Rep. Mark Matthiesen, a Republican, represents parts of St. Louis and St. Charles Counties (District 70) in the Missouri House of Representatives. He was elected to his first two-year term in November 2016.
In addition to his legislative duties, Rep. Matthiesen has 20 years of experience managing and working in the hospitality industry.
Rep. Matthiesen is a member of Dorsett Village Church in Maryland Heights. He also is a member of the Saint Louis Metro Singers.
Rep. Matthiesen graduated from Washington High School in 1994. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Administration from Missouri State in 2005.
Rep. Matthiesen was born in Fayetteville, Arkansas, and currently resides in Maryland Heights with his wife and son.
Requires the department of elementary and secondary education to provide statewide assessment results to school districts within forty-five days of the completion of student testing
Adds additional reporting requirements by school employees to law enforcement agencies for acts committed by a pupil on school property or school bus or while involved in school activities
Modifies the Missouri income tax rates
Specifies that any whole life insurance policies with long term care riders shall meet the existing qualifications to join the Missouri Partnership
Requires all moneys, except administrative costs, from minor traffic violations on state-maintained roads or highways to be sent to the Director of the Department of Revenue
