HB 1512 -- Charitable Fund-Raising
Sponsor: Champion
This bill removes the requirement for persons marketing or
collecting funds on behalf of a charitable organization to state
on all literature soliciting funds that a portion of the funds
contributed are used for marketing expenses, if any funds are so
used.
The bill also requires all persons soliciting for charitable
organizations, other than those currently exempt from the
state's charitable solicitations registration law, to disclose
the percentage of funds raised in the past 12 months that were
spent on the charitable purpose. Professional fundraisers are
further required to disclose that they are not members of the
charity.
