HB 1717 -- Political Contributions from Gaming-Related Sources
Sponsor: Akin
This bill prohibits persons and entities holding or applying for
gaming licenses from making contributions to candidates for
public office, to political party committees, and to political
action committees, and prohibits the candidates or committees
from accepting such contributions. Violations are a class C
felony and subject the offender to revocation or denial of a
gaming license or forfeiture of the contribution. Excepted are
expenditures by a candidate for his or her own campaign or a
transfer of funds by a candidate to his or her own political
committee.
