Rep. Bill E. Kidd, a Republican, represents the NE part of Jackson County (District 20) in the Missouri House of Representatives. He was elected to his first two-year term in November 2014.
Prior to his legislative duties, Rep. Kidd was a small business owner in Independence, MO. and held various positions with corporations.
Rep. Kidd is a 1975 graduate from Oklahoma State University where he received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology. Mr. Kidd has held his Security and Exchange licenses and has been a registered investment advisor.
Rep. Kidd has served as reserve deputy sheriff and is currently a member of the command staff for the emergency operation center of eastern Jackson County and the City of Independence.
Rep. Kidd currently resides in Northeast Jackson County with his wife, Jamie.
Establishes the Missouri Energy Freedom Act
Establishes "Simon's Law," which changes the laws regarding life-sustaining or nonbeneficial treatment policies of health care facilities
Authorizes a tax credit for senior citizen property owners
Requires teachers and principals to complete two hours of suicide prevention education each school year
Changes the laws regarding sales taxes on food in charter cities by updating the description of the city of Independence
Authorizes the conveyance of certain state properties
Modifies provisions relating to hazardous waste fees paid to the Missouri Emergency Response Commission
Encourages the Governor to require professional registration and certification entities to review and revise policies and procedures to streamline the certification and licensing process to take into account relevant military education, skills training, and service when determining equivalency for purposes of issuing certifications and licenses
Creates a Task Force on Emergency Management
