State Representative Douglas Beck (D) District 92 - Elected to his first two year term in the Missouri House of Representatives in November 2016 serving parts of St. Louis County.
In addition to his legislative duties, Rep. Beck has been a Pipefitter for the UA Local 562 for 30 years.
Rep. Beck was born in St. Louis, MO, graduated from Lindbergh High School in 1983 and attended St. Louis Community College.
He currently resides in St. Louis with his wife and their two children.
Changes the laws regarding tax increment financing districts
Creates preference for bidders who are residents of Missouri when bidding on projects for the state, its agencies, and political subdivisions
Authorizes a tax credit for the establishment of a grocery store in a food desert
Modifies the offenses of unlawful transfer of weapons and unlawful possession of a firearm
Modifies provisions of law relating to project labor agreements
Prohibits employers from inquiring about an employee or applicant's salary history information
Changes the laws regarding the safekeeping of personal information
Establishes employees' right to compensation for unused vacation leave at end of employment
Establishes rules relating to the applicability of covenants not to compete
Changes the laws regarding the foreign ownership of agricultural land
Modifies provisions relating to an upgrade of vocational and technical education services
Urges Congress to reinstate the separation of commercial and investment banking functions previously in effect under the Glass-Steagall Act and support efforts to return to national banking policies to repair our nation's infrastructure
