Rep. Shane Roden, a Republican, represents part of Jefferson County (District 111) in the Missouri House of Representatives. He was elected to his first two-year term in November 2014.
In addition to his legislative duties, Rep. Roden is a firefighter, paramedic and a reserve Deputy Sheriff. Rep. Roden is also a life member of the Commemorative Air Force.
Rep. Roden is a 2001 graduate from Washington High School. He received his B.S. in Fire Science Management from Lindenwood in 2007. In 2014, Rep. Roden received a Master’s in Public Administration from Arkansas State University.
Born on March 5, 1983 and raised in Franklin County, Rep. Roden currently resides with his wife, Shannon, in Cedar Hill.
Establishes a presumption that a firefighter assigned to a certain number of years of hazardous duty, exposed to certain agents, and disabled as a result of cancer incurred the cancer in the course of employment as a firefighter
Changes the laws regarding the requirements to serve or be employed as certain public safety personnel
Authorizes a tax deduction for businesses equal to the costs of installing a diaper changing table in certain bathrooms
Returns the control of the City of St. Louis Police Department back to the Board of Police Commissioners
Modifies provisions relating to the no-call list.
Prohibits certain charges to customers by public water supply districts and metropolitan water supply districts.
Specifies when persons operating or riding a motorcycle or motortricycle must wear protective headgear and imposes certain insurance requirements for persons who elect to ride without protective headgear
Creates new provisions related to unpaid leave for firefighters who contract cancer
Allows law enforcement agencies to establish boundaries for tactical law enforcement operations and prohibits live video broadcast of events within such boundaries
Modifies provisions relating to corrections
