Biography
Rep. Crystal Quade, a Democrat, represents part of Greene County (District 132) in the Missouri House of Representatives. She was elected to her first term in office in November 2016 and re-elected in 2018. She was elected by her caucus to serve as the House Minority Floor Leader for the 100th General Assembly.
Quade is the former director of chapter services at Care to Learn, a nonprofit organization that addresses the health, hunger and hygiene needs of economically disadvantaged children in several school districts across Missouri. She previously worked as a field representative for Community Blood Center of the Ozarks, as regional field director for Organizing for America, and as a U.S. Senate constituent services representative
While earning her Bachelor of Social Work degree at Missouri State University, Quade was a legislative intern to four-term state representative for District 132, Charlie Norr.
Quade currently serves as a Board Member for Better Life in Recovery, is a Democratic State Committeewoman and is a member of the League of Women Voters of Southwest Missouri. She also works with the Springfield, MO Community Focus Report, Civic Engagement Team. In 2017, Quade was named one of Springfield Business Journal’s 12 People You Need to Know and in 2018 was awarded SBJ’s 40 under 40.
Quade and her husband, Kevin Waterland, live in Springfield, Missouri. They have three children: Aydin, Naomi, and Alexa.
